This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Streatham Cleaner has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. Streatham Cleaner is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently and with integrity, and we recognise our responsibility to contribute to the eradication of modern slavery in all its forms.
Streatham Cleaner has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation. This applies to all areas of our business, including the recruitment and treatment of our staff, the engagement of contractors, and the selection and management of suppliers and subcontractors.
We will not knowingly work with any organisation that is involved in, or associated with, modern slavery or human trafficking. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of contracts, partnerships or employment, as appropriate.
Streatham Cleaner provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains include suppliers of cleaning products and equipment, staffing and recruitment partners, facilities management partners and other service providers who support our operations.
We recognise that some sectors of the cleaning and facilities industry may be at higher risk of labour exploitation. We therefore seek to work only with reputable suppliers and partners who share our values and who can demonstrate robust labour standards and ethical practices.
To support our zero-tolerance policy, we expect all suppliers and contractors to adhere to applicable labour, employment and human rights legislation and to maintain safe, fair and respectful working conditions. We communicate these expectations as part of our procurement and onboarding processes.
We are developing and implementing a risk-based audit programme for key suppliers. This may include requesting information on recruitment practices, worker pay and conditions, right-to-work checks, use of subcontractors and grievance mechanisms. Where appropriate, we may conduct site visits or request evidence of compliance with recognised ethical or labour standards.
If we identify non-compliance or areas of concern, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within a reasonable timeframe. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to address identified issues, we reserve the right to review, suspend or end the business relationship.
Streatham Cleaner encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to those of any organisation in our supply chain.
Reports can be made confidentially through established internal reporting channels, including raising issues with line managers or senior management. Where appropriate, individuals may also report concerns directly to relevant external authorities. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith.
All reports will be taken seriously, promptly reviewed and appropriately investigated. Where necessary, we will involve specialist advisors or authorities and will take action to protect anyone who may be at risk.
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and management. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management, receive guidance on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding our policies and knowing how to raise concerns.
We aim to build a culture where respect for human rights is embedded in everyday decisions, and where everyone understands their role in preventing modern slavery.
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery approach rests with the leadership of Streatham Cleaner. We monitor our practices, review supplier performance and evaluate the effectiveness of our controls and reporting channels on an ongoing basis.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, our business operations or the findings of our audits and investigations. Any significant learnings will inform improvements to our policies, procedures and training.
By publishing this statement, Streatham Cleaner reaffirms its commitment to acting ethically, promoting human dignity and working proactively to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
